The trishul stands for what he destroys — the three afflictions, the three gunas, the three worlds. The damru is the drum whose beat began creation. Held together, they say more about Mahadev than a figure often can, which is why this form appeals to devotees who already own a Shiva murti.

The piece is sealed beneath a clear glass dome on a finished base. Dust settles on the dome rather than on the trishul, so the fine detailing along the shaft and the damru stays sharp without handling.
